From Quebec to the Indian Ocean: An 11-Day Masterclass in Adventure with ‘Chicks and Machines’
What happens when you take a world-class TV producer, a content creator with more cameras than hair, and a professional photographer, and drop them into the heart of Tanzania? You get the trip of a lifetime—and a whole lot of laughter.
Recently, 4strokemaasai Limited had the absolute honor of hosting Cyndi Martin. She is the visionary Co-owner of the global web magazine Chicks and Machines and host of the TV show “C&M Autour du monde.” Along with her husband Alex and her mother, this was a high-production family expedition.
As owners of the famous Idle Garage & Coffee in Quebec, Cyndi and Alex live and breathe bikes. Consequently, when experts of this caliber choose us for their Tanzania motorbike tour, we know our fleet is ready for anything.
The Machine: Testing the Kove 450 Rally
A professional Tanzania motorbike tour deserves professional equipment. Therefore, we put the team on our fleet of Kove 450 Rally bikes. These Dakar-bred machines were built for exactly what the bush throws at you: volcanic rock, deep sand, and technical trails.
You get the trip of a lifetime.

Day 1–3: Starting the Tanzania Motorbike Tour at Kilimanjaro

After a warm welcome at Boulevard Inn, Arusha, we headed for the hills. We stopped at Mukuru Eco Tented Camp in Ngarananyuki for a lunch prepared by local Maasai women—authentic fuel for an authentic ride.
We pushed through Ngabobo village and Tinga Tinga to reach Simba Farm Lodge on the slopes of West Kilimanjaro. Riding through the Enduimet Wildlife Area was like being in a NatGeo documentary. We saw giraffes, zebras, and ostriches. We even chased a massive elephant, but he was camera-shy; we only managed a high-def shot of his “bum” before he disappeared into the bush!

Day 4–6: Dust, Hot Springs, and Rhinos
After washing off the dust at Chemka Hotsprings and feasting on Chips Mayai, we headed through Moshi to Mwanga Lodge and Campsite. The next day, we lunching on the shores of Nyumba ya Mungu Dam with Kili looming in the distance before reaching the Elephant Motel in Same.

Day 6 was a shift to 4x4s as we entered Mkomazi National Park. The team was floored by the Rhino Sanctuary. We met Kisima, an orphaned rhino who walked right up to the vehicle, giving Alex and Mom some of the best footage of the entire trip. No Tanzania motorbike tour is complete without witnessing the incredible conservation work at the Rhino Sanctuary.

Day 7–9: Marriage Proposals & Mountain Peaks
In the Pare Mountains, the riding got technical and the stories got better. At a local coconut stop, some young guys—impressed by Cyndi’s riding—jokingly offered to “keep” her and send Alex on his way! Despite the French-Swahili language barrier, the laughter was 100% universal.

After a 3-hour search for a lost drone (a small sacrifice to the mountains), we reached Mambo View Point Eco-Lodge. At 1,900m on a cliff edge, it was the perfect place to let the jetlag settle and soak in the clouds.

Day 10–11: Rainforests to the Indian Ocean
We dove into the Shume Forest, lunching at the historic Lawns Hotel in Lushoto. We then took an “off-the-grid” track between East and West Usambara, emerging at Mombo where the owner of Mawingu Camp met us on his bike to escort us to his cliff-side paradise.

The final push through the tea plantations of Amani Forest and the backroads of Maramba led us to the finish line: Fish Eagle Point in Tanga. Watching Cyndi and her family realize they had just crossed Tanzania to reach this private beach was a moment we won’t forget.

Why Experts Choose 4strokemaasai for their Tanzania Motorbike Tour
This trip wasn’t just about the miles; it was about the people. When it comes to a professional Tanzania motorbike tour, the gear matters as much as the guide.
- The Gear: Our Kove 450 Rally fleet handled every inch of the 1,000km+ route.
- The Logistics: Our rescue car, trailer and medievac backup ensured the team was supported 24/7.
- The Heart: From Cyndi’s mother capturing every shot to Alex’s incredible social stories, this was a family-run expedition hosted by a family-run business.
To the crew at Idle Garage & Coffee and Chicks and Machines: Tanzania is officially your second home. Keep the rubber side down!
